What a weekend it was! I apologize for not posting sooner, but better late than never! Friday I hit the road with my coworker and arrived at the Chelsea Museum of Art where we set up our booth for D&A, the show went from Saturday through Monday. We stayed in the eclectic Gershwin Hotel right in the middle of Manhattan. Below are some shots of the hotel and from a couple adventures outside of the show.
The Cooper-Hewitt‘s current exhibitions, Quicktake: Rodarte and Design USA: Contemporary Innovation are a must see. Catch a glimpse of the creative genius of Milton Glaser, Chip Kid, Tom Ford, Michael Bierut, Good Magazine and even Target! (The list goes on) Walk from room to room with the complementary ipod touch as your personal tour guide. I discovered this quote from Michael Bierut as I entered the exhibition, “Not everything is design. But design is about everything.” (so true.)
It was great to see fellow MICA Alum’s work in person. Katie Evans designed this bright and graphic window display for the Kate Spade window at their 135 5th avenue location. Check out her website for more windows!
such a fun way to kick off the weekend with a couple friends from MICA.
