This past Saturday I met up with some friends and, with delicious donuts in hand from The Holy Donut, we walked to the Farmer’s Market in Deering Oaks Park. It was a beautiful sunny morning with an enthusiastic crowd of happy shoppers. The bounty of vegetables, flower, herbs and meat and dairy was overwhelming. It took me a couple laps to finalize my purchases, a bouquet of sunflowers, tomatoes, Swiss chard and a little rosemary plant! I used the tomatoes with some basil from my garden to make a sauce, turned the Swiss chard into a brunch quiche, sprinkled the flowers around the house and my little sweet Mary is catching rays in the living room by the window.
