I couldn’t be more excited for this years christmas tree! Tomorrow morning my boyfriend and I will head out on a little trip to hike around a tree farm and select the perfect imperfect tree. Happy Weekend Everyone!
I am thrilled that Deb the lovely lady behind the delicious blog, smitten kitchen has published her first cookbook! While I was out shopping last weekend I discovered the beautiful mouthwatering book. This will be going to the top of my wish list for Santa!!
This past weekend I ventured into the fabric pile and started exploring. I began by recycling some old leather and creating the straps for a new bag design, next I pieced together the olive cotton canvas upper with the navy nylon bottom. I finished the tote off with a dark denim lining. Stay tuned for new additions popping up in the shop!
I hope you all had a delicious holiday with friends and family this past week! I spent the holiday with my family and made a homemade cornbread stuffing and a pumpkin cream pie to share. (Thank you Martha.) My sister roasted the most succulent turkey with a sage herbed butter rub paired with creamy garlic mashed potatoes, roasted squash, green beans with homemade candied walnuts and the most incredible roasted root vegetable salad on baby greens. My mom made her famous squash rolls, pecan tart and chilled mousse with raspberry drizzle. Mmmm! Let the tasty festivities continue!
I am still savoring the yummy leftovers!

I finished my sweater quilt this past weekend and it is now up in the shop! This quilt is crafted of beautiful upcycled wool and cotton sweater swatches. Ivory, creams and oatmeal with pops of light and charcoal grays result in a calming organic palette. The quilt has 100% cotton batting, is backed with 100% prewashed cotton indigo gray fabric, and has been finished with hand-sewn edges.
Perfect as a cozy throw on your couch or an additional layer on a twin bed this quilt is ideal for cool, crisp days.
